If we accept privacy as a problem of and for democracy, then popular fixes are inadequate. For example, in his book Who Owns the Future? On this logic, by turning our data into an asset that we might sell, we accomplish two things. First, we can control who has access to it, and second, we can make up for some of the economic losses caused by the disruption of everything analog.

In Code and Other Laws of Cyberspace first published in , Lawrence Lessig enthused about building a property regime around private data. Only if the machines can agree will the site be able to obtain her personal data.

It would be extremely dynamic: The property regime can, indeed, strengthen privacy: Perhaps they might pay a small fee or promise a tax credit for the privilege of nudging you later on—with the help of the data from your smartphone.

Consumers win, entrepreneurs win, technocrats win. Privacy, in one way or another, is preserved also. So who, exactly, loses here? We also should worry about the implications for justice and equality. For example, my decision to disclose personal information, even if I disclose it only to my insurance company, will inevitably have implications for other people, many of them less well off. People who say that tracking their fitness or location is merely an affirmative choice from which they can opt out have little knowledge of how institutions think.

Once there are enough early adopters who self-track—and most of them are likely to gain something from it—those who refuse will no longer be seen as just quirky individuals exercising their autonomy.

No, they will be considered deviants with something to hide. Their insurance will be more expensive. Do I really want to share my data and get a coupon I do not need if it means that someone else who is already working three jobs may ultimately have to pay more?

Before the environment became a global concern, few of us thought twice about taking public transport if we could drive. Perhaps we fear that it was made by children or exploited adults. Or, having thought about it, maybe we actually do want to buy the T-shirt because we hope it might support the work of a child who would otherwise be forced into prostitution.

What is the right thing to do here? We should also be troubled by the suggestion that we can reduce the privacy problem to the legal dimension. Unless we learn and continuously relearn how automated information processing promotes and impedes democratic life, an answer to this question might prove worthless, especially if the democratic regime needed to implement whatever answer we come up with unravels in the meantime.

What does this philosophical insight mean in practice? First, we must politicize the debate about privacy and information sharing. Articulating the existence—and the profound political consequences—of the invisible barbed wire would be a good start. We must scrutinize data-intensive problem solving and expose its occasionally antidemocratic character. At times we should accept more risk, imperfection, improvisation, and inefficiency in the name of keeping the democratic spirit alive.

Second, we must learn how to sabotage the system—perhaps by refusing to self-track at all. If refusing to record our calorie intake or our whereabouts is the only way to get policy makers to address the structural causes of problems like obesity or climate change—and not just tinker with their symptoms through nudging—information boycotts might be justifiable.

Refusing to make money off your own data might be as political an act as refusing to drive a car or eat meat. Third, we need more provocative digital services. Instead it should reawaken our own imaginations. Designed right, sites would not nudge citizens to either guard or share their private information but would reveal the hidden political dimensions to various acts of information sharing.

Instead of yet another app that could tell us how much money we can save by monitoring our exercise routine, we need an app that can tell us how many people are likely to lose health insurance if the insurance industry has as much data as the NSA, most of it contributed by consumers like us. Eventually we might discern such dimensions on our own, without any technological prompts.

Finally, we have to abandon fixed preconceptions about how our digital services work and interconnect. While many Internet activists would surely argue otherwise, what happens to the Internet is of only secondary importance.

After all, back in Paul Baran was lucky enough not to know what the Internet would become. Abandon the idea that the Internet fell from grace over the last decade. Liberating ourselves from that misreading of history could help us address the antidemocratic threats of the digital future. Evgeny Morozov is the author of The Net Delusion: The Folly of Technological Solutionism. Going mainstream could be disastrous for the currency, if traders treat it like a conventional asset. In my opinion, applying the knowledge in the related field is better. The world is full of diversity; hence we can find varieties of people and their opinions towards the education. Maximum people like to have scientific knowledge just to put it with them only. However, Lots of people want to get the scientific knowledge to do something with it in any specific field. The people who are passionate towards science and have dedication on it they wish to do something with it.

Gathering of knowledge is not good enough for a good human being; they need to apply it in related field. Knowing is nothing more than taking water when you feel thirsty, but how to use water for different purposes is called applying the knowledge in particular field and which is called successful people as well.

In conclusion, if you want to have scientific knowledge then use it in a relevant sector and boost your ability and improve your knowledge in a related field rather than limited with knowing it only.

Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of both. It is usually foolish to get married before completing your studies and getting established in a good job? Do you agree or disagree? TV these days has become an integral part of our lives. Some experts believe that TV is a medium to spread news, while other are of the view that it can act as a companion. There are a myriad of arguments in favour of my stance. The most conspicuous one is that TV provides a lot of information through a range of channels.

These channels include National Geographic, Discovery to name a few and through their content driven approach, offer variety of information about the world which we are unaware of. Furthermore, TV through a number of learning programmes, help people especially students to broad their horizon. Hence, it is apparent that why some experts believe that TV can behave as a companion.

Another pivotal aspect of this stance is that TV is a biggest source of entertainment and news. It inform us about the latest happenings around us and offers entertainment in our leisure time. For instance, it updates me about the daily weather, which I use to plan my day and also offers me movies in my spare time and therefore act as a companion to me.

In view of the arguments outlined above, one can conclude that benefits of the TV are indeed too great to ignore and if used aptly, can act as a companion. Mass media including TV, Radio and Newspapers have significant influence on people, especially young people, in shaping their opinion. Mass media is no doubt an integral part of our lives. Almost every household has at least one form of media which we use in our leisure time.

The most conspicuous one is that due to the development of technology we, especially young ones, got easy access to the media through tablets and mobile devices and use these devices to watch TV, read newspapers and listen to the radio. Some of us trust and rely heavily on our media sources for information especially youngsters as they lack maturity and experience needed to analyse all the information and thus form ideas and opinion according to the information they receive from these media outlets.

For example, during election times, candidates use media like TV, radio and newspaper to improve their impression among masses. Another pivotal aspect of my stance is that media has removed boundaries and created globalization. People can now watch programs from different cultures and use these shows for their understanding about various cultures. For example, if someone is watching American or Indian TV show, he can easily understand and form opinion about their culture.

You have categorized it as opinion, though it is specifying as Agree or disagree. The ownership of cars should be restricted to one per family in order to reduce traffic congestion and pollution.

To what extent do you agree or disagree? If you find yourself short of words, I would suggest you read essays. Your vocabulary will increase and will help in long run. Shopping Malls, become an essential building in every country. The successful design of Shopping malls brought developers to build more of it, however, there are counter effects of having shopping malls towards smaller shops.

I will give my opinion after analyzing both effects. Shopping Malls, become popular and vital to families who have different needs whether in daily basis or occasionally, mothers can find best option of clothes as she can visit more than one wearing shop inside the mall, without bothering herself to drive to each shop.

Most of these malls would have designated floors for restaurants which are so called food court , besides to game area and cinema. Imagine how helpful to you to have all these in one stop shop. Now, who is negatively affected from Shopping malls, surely are the smaller shops. Many shops have been closed or changed their location into one of the shopping malls.

In my Opinion, diversity of community services have to be maintained in each neighborhood, we still need certain shops to satisfy our daily needs, for example, having a laundry shop or a bakery or small grocery shop are necessary in-order to avoid driving your car to the mall just for few stuff.

The effect of child act which is a legally responsibility of their parents was always debatable, has now become more controversial.

It can be said that it is totally the responsibility of parents because their child is the minor image of their parents. This essay will elaborate how the child act directly related to their parents and lead to a logical conclusion.

At the outset there are numerous of reasons why the child behaviour impact parents image but the most conspicuous stems from the fact that if the child behaviour is good in the society than the parents are the first one ,who get the first applaud and get really appreciated.

If their child do something bad than they are the person to blame. Thus parents play a pivotal role in child act in the society. Another important aspect for upholding this notion is that parents are the first person through whom the child learns the first education of their life. Thus the role of parents is very predominant in every stage of their child life. Eventually, for what has been discussed above it can be concluded that to give a good learning to their child to act well is not impracticable and unattainable but it is very comprehensible and feasible, which is definitely a responsibility of parents.

I think the admin of this web site is actually working hard in support of his site, for the reason that here every material is quality based material. The importance of parents being legally responsible for their children acts, which was always debatable, has become more controversial.

The substantial influence of parents on their children acts has evoked a controversy over the potential impact of this trend. One of the studies by psychologists reveals the astounding facts that the poor value system is the underlying cause for the majority of juvenile crimes.

The essay will elaborate on parents being legally responsible or the children themselves responsible for their deeds and thus will lead to a logical conclusion.

At the outset, there are innumerable reasons that why parents should be responsible for their children acts as they play a pivotal role in establishing the strong foundation of values in the children. If a child achieves the outstanding results, the credit is also being accorded to the parents. Likewise, if the child indulges in unwarranted behaviour, then both the child and parent should be reprimanded.

As an illustration, research in this area invariably reveals that the moral ethics of the child is being fostered and instilled in the initial years of development. Subsequently, the ethics become the value system and discipline of a child.

In many countries, the juvenile legislation is being amended so that the children do not disown the responsibility of the crime. Nevertheless, there remain some drawbacks which can be overwhelming. Eventually, from what has been discussed above, parents should take the complete responsibility of their children by acting as a great friend, philosopher and guide and foster them into capable individuals.

The government should invest more money in science education rather than other subjects to develop the country. The access to education, medicine, industry, transportation etc.

Due to the convenience and efficiency provided by technology, our lives have improved significantly. There used to be a time when executing a simple task like doing laundry would take most of the day. Thanks to modern technology, a lot of burden has been lifted up from our shoulders and we have more time and energy to do what we want to.

With so many advantages and comfort, come the disadvantages too. Technology is being used imprudently these days resulting in affecting the society negatively and complicating our lives. Relationship with family members is being weakened due to excessive involvement with various devices. Although in a few cases, parents resort to technology to communicate with their children and know about their whereabouts but this is not adequate always.

Technology has made access to education easier but it is also resulting in weakening the memories of people.
